FontCaptain Support
FontCaptain reads the computed CSS of text you select on a page and shows practical typography values such as font family, size, weight, line height and color.
Get started
- Install FontCaptain, then enable its Safari extension in Safari Settings on Mac or Settings → Apps → Safari → Extensions on iPhone or iPad.
- Open a webpage in Safari, allow the extension access when Safari asks, and start FontCaptain from the Safari extensions menu.
- Point to or tap supported text. Review the displayed CSS values and copy the values you need.
What to expect
The displayed font family is the computed CSS fallback list, not proof of which font rendered every glyph. FontCaptain does not identify fonts inside images or inaccessible frames and does not download font files.
Permissions and privacy
Safari may ask for access to the webpage so the extension can inspect its text and computed styles. You control this access in Safari's extension settings.
