Get started

1. Enable PageShot in Safari Settings on Mac, or Settings → Apps → Safari → Extensions on iPhone and iPad. Allow access to the page you want to capture.
2. Open PageShot from Safari’s extensions menu and choose Whole page or Visible area. During capture, keep the same tab active and avoid resizing the window or changing zoom. You can cancel from the page’s capture indicator.
3. Open the PageShot app to preview the finished image. Adjust preview zoom, crop the edges, then choose Copy or Save PNG. The original scroll position and temporary page styles are restored after completion or cancellation.

Supported pages and limits

Whole-page capture supports ordinary pages with a finite length and vertical scrolling of the main document. Infinite feeds, virtualized tables, nested scrolling panels, horizontal overflow and pinch zoom are outside this workflow. The image comes from the current displayed tab. A changed tab, navigation or changed window size stops the capture.

Output is limited to 24 megapixels and 16,384 pixels per edge, with at most 50 captured frames and a 120-second operation limit. PageShot reports an exceeded limit rather than silently cropping the page. Export is PNG; PDF, OCR and video capture are not included.

If something goes wrong

If capture stops, keep the tab active and try again without changing window size or zoom. For a very long page, try Visible area or a shorter supported page.

If a complex page is unsupported, use Visible area. Site-specific layouts may affect fixed elements and delayed images. Contact support with the page type and device details; do not send a screenshot containing private information.
