This policy explains how the TabCaptain macOS app and Safari extension handle information.

TabCaptain processes Safari tab-management data needed to provide its features. This may include tab URLs, page titles, favicon references, tab and window identifiers, grouping metadata, sleeping-tab metadata, session snapshots, theme preferences, and local sorting or usage counters.
TabCaptain stores its working data locally on your device. The Safari extension keeps its tab-management state and native recovery copy in its own sandboxed storage. The macOS app keeps its own local interface and purchase data; TabCaptain does not request access to data from other apps for this purpose.
Premium purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit and your App Store account. TabCaptain stores a local cached copy of premium state so the extension can enforce premium access without constant re-checks.
As of this version, TabCaptain does not include its own account system, remote sync backend, advertising SDKs, or third-party analytics or telemetry services. Ordinary network requests may still occur through Safari or when site resources such as favicons load.
This website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure page views, visits, and performance, and loads Google Analytics 4 only after you choose Allow to measure page visits and outbound Mac App Store clicks. These website services do not receive Safari tab data from the TabCaptain app or extension. You can decline Google Analytics 4 without losing access to the site.
The Safari extension requires access to Safari tabs and related metadata to group tabs, detect duplicates, move tabs to sleep, restore tabs, and render titles and icons. If you do not want TabCaptain to access this data, do not enable the extension.
Locally stored data remains on your device until it is replaced, cleared, or removed with the app. Removing TabCaptain or clearing its local state removes locally persisted app data, subject to normal system behavior and backups under your control.
TabCaptain is not directed to children under 13 and is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children.
This policy may be updated from time to time. The current bundled version in the app is the version that applies to the installed build.
