Built-in ways to close a set
Command-click selects tabs that are separated; Shift-click selects a contiguous range. Safari's tab menu also provides Close Other Tabs and commands to close tabs to the right or left. These controls are fast when the tab order already matches the intended cleanup boundary.
Position-based closing is less suitable when important and disposable tabs are interleaved. In that case, reorganize the tabs first or use a semantic set such as one domain or duplicate URLs.
Close by meaning, not only position
TabCaptain's searchable, domain-grouped list helps define a set before acting. You can close individual tabs for free. Lifetime Premium adds group actions and Close all duplicates, which are useful when the reviewed set maps to a website group or repeated pages.
Bulk actions should remain deliberate. A group of tabs from the same domain may contain drafts, account pages and finished reference pages, so expand the group before closing it.
Recovery planning
Safari's History > Recently Closed can reopen recently closed pages. TabCaptain also offers closed-tab history and sessions with Lifetime Premium. A saved session is the stronger preparation when you are deliberately clearing a large working set and may want the entire collection again.
